§ 2-268. Vacancies and removal.

  • In the event any vacancy occurs for any reason on the board, the mayor or council member responsible for the vacant position, shall appoint a successor to serve the remainder of the term so vacated.

    Any board member who fails to attend three (3) consecutive regular meetings or fails to attend five (5) regular or duly called special meetings in any one calendar year shall be automatically suspended and a vacancy shall be declared unless four (4) of the remaining committee members shall vote to reinstate such committee member within thirty (30) days after the vacancy is declared. The city council may, by two-thirds (⅔) majority vote, remove any committee member for malfeasance, nonfeasance or other good cause shown, and in such event, any committee member so removed may have the decision reviewed at a public hearing before the city council.
