§ 2-77. Powers, duties.

(a)

The bureau shall have jurisdiction and authority over all matters relating to the establishment, promotion, and development of tourism and conventions and related matters within the city.

(b)

The bureau is authorized to contract for the furnishing, equipping and operation of any and all facilities necessary or useful in the promotion of tourism and conventions; to lease or rent such facilities; and to receive and expend, subject to the provisions of this article and section 25-2 of this Code, revenues from any source, subject to the approval of the mayor and board of aldermen.
