Latest version.
  • Upon due inquiry with respect to an application for authorization to engage in a taxicab business, if the mayor and board of aldermen are satisfied as to the qualifications of the applicant and that the public convenience and necessity require authorization for the operation of additional taxicabs they shall thereupon enter an order for a permit to such applicant for the operation of the number of such vehicles as in their opinion may be required on the basis of public convenience and necessity.
