Article II. PARK AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD |
§ 20-14. Function and duties.
The City of Tupelo Park and Recreation Advisory Board will function as an advisory board to assist park and recreation department personnel in developing guidelines and policies in order to achieve departmental goals and objections. Board members may be required to serve as the treasurer and/or as board representative to all City of Tupelo Park and Recreation parent associations. Members of the advisory board will serve on a volunteer basis. The board will serve as an advisory review for all public recreational facilities and parks. The park and recreation advisory board will be responsible for the approval of all proposed parks to be located or situated on City of Tupelo property. The board will work with the Department of Parks and Recreation in developing and maintaining a five (5) year development plan. The plan will include recommendations for:
(1)
Size and location of public parks within the city limits.
(2)
Facilities to be prepared at public parks within the city limits.
(3)
Establishment and/or the acceptance of new parks and recreation system.
