§ 17-94. Impounding unlawfully parked vehicles authorized; redemption, fee.

  • Every vehicle which may be improperly or unlawfully stationed, parked or left in any street of the city, may be removed and impounded by any traffic or police officer of the city, who shall promptly report the same to police headquarters for record. Such impounded vehicle shall be delivered to the owner or other person entitled to the possession thereof on the payment of an impounding fee of such amount as established by the mayor and board of aldermen from time to time, which shall be accounted for by the police department.
