§ 17-67. Same—To have right-of-way.

  • United States mail vehicles, ambulances and vehicles of the police and fire departments shall have the right-of-way on any street. All vehicles pertaining to the fire department shall have prior right-of-way over all other vehicles or cars upon the streets of the city. It shall be unlawful for any person in charge or control of any buggy, wagon, carriage, automobile, engine or train, or any other vehicle propelled by whatsoever motive power, to carelessly, wantonly, willfully, or maliciously delay any fire apparatus of the city going to or returning from any supposed or actual fire.
