If the permit applicant is not the owner of the property where the garage sale or
moving sale will be conducted, the applicant must provide written permission from
the property owner of the sale site to the city clerk prior to the permit being issued.
Permits, when issued, shall authorize the estate sale, garage sale, or moving sale
for a period not to exceed three (3) days. No garage sale or moving sale shall be
authorized or permitted on Sunday unless conducted by a designated business possessing
a privilege license for conducting such sales issued by the City of Tupelo. However,
an estate sale may be conducted on Sunday. The permit shall contain the dates of the
authorized sale and shall be posted at all times during the sale in a clearly visible
manner at or near the site of the sale and within five (5) feet of the road or curb
line. All sales shall be conducted only between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
during the dates authorized on the permit except sales held on Sunday, which shall
be conducted only between the hours of 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m.
