§ 15-16. License required; application.

  • Any person desiring to conduct a sale of merchandise, commonly known as bankruptcy, insolvent, liquidation, assignee's, receiver's, trustee's, adjuster's, wholesale, manufacturer's, or closing-out sale, or a sale of goods damaged by fire, smoke or water, or otherwise, shall, before engaging in such business in the city file with the mayor a petition for a license to conduct such sale, showing:

    (1)

    The nature of the sale and the length of time required by the petitioner for conducting such sale.

    (2)

    Whether or not it is the purpose of the petitioner to replenish the stock of goods, wares and merchandise during the course of the sale, and to what extent it is proposed to replenish such stock.

    (3)

    The place of sale and the approximate value of goods to be sold.
